The objective of the Edge Tech Academy CNC Machinist program is to prepare the student for an entry-level position in computer numerical control manufacturing, mold making, die making, or general machinist positions. Educational emphasis is placed on the use of precision-measuring tools, industry blueprint reading, precision C.N.C. Turning, C.N.C. Milling, and precision grinding equipment. Skill development and practical applications are stressed during the entire study program.
Graduates of the CNC Machinist program may be qualified for entry level work as a computer numerical control machinist or a general machinist, or in positions related to quality control of machined products.
The normal duration required to complete this program is 48 credits and the maximum timeframe is 72 credits.
