Southern Technical College's Welding Technology program teaches students welding processes that involve Fillet, Grove, Metal Arc Shield and MIG/TIG components along with advanced techniques used for pipe welding.
Our Welding Technology program offers more than just the technical skills to become a welder; students are exposed to the necessary business and technology programs used in today's current job market. Students gain the essential knowledge to operate, oversee and assist with various welding operations. Upon graduation, with these new skill sets, students have an edge in today's competitive workplace; where modern jobs are continuing to place emphasis on computer-aided manufacturing equipment and automated welding systems.
Graduates, who earn an Associate's Degree in Welding Technology, are equipped with the know-how to work anywhere a welder is needed. Some career fields include automotive, aerospace, aviation, bridge work, construction, manufacturing, ship yards, and skyscrapers. Professionals, who complete their Associate's Degree in Welding Technology, may choose to become a certified welder.
